St George's Tolworth

A church at the heart of our community

Welcome

St Georges Church TolworthSt George's is a lively, friendly church in Tolworth, South-West London.  We describe ourselves as a church at the heart of our community, sharing Jesus and growing in discipleship.

Our Sunday Services are in Church, and also run on Zoom for those at home, for details please use the email link below.  If you don’t have Zoom at home, you can dial in using 020 3695 0088.

This Month's Focus

Easter is a significant season for Christians as we recall the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of our Christian faith.  It's that which made us reconciled with God.  The Easter narrative is also one of hope as we see Christ's victory over evil, pain, and suffering.  And this reminds us that Jesus understands our pain and grief and will help us through them.  But importantly, because of Christ's victory over death, we need not fear death as Christ's followers.  Christ has conquered death, and we have the promise that we will be raised and have life after death as we will be resurrected to be with God.

So, we celebrate Easter by looking back with gratitude for what Jesus did for us on the cross by reconciling us to God.  We give thanks for God's love for us and our hope in Christ that we will one day be with God forever.  As a church, we commemorate this season through several events and services in what is traditionally called Holy Week.  And this year, we will do this from 24th-31st March 2024.  More details can be found on our events page.

So come and worship with us as we celebrate this important season on the church's calendar.  And remember that God loves you.

Sundays at St Georges

We meet every Sunday Morning for worship at 10:00am, with a variety of services styles available.  Whatever the style of service, there is always a time for teaching, prayer, prayer ministry, and worship.  Please look below to find out more about the different services we hold.

St George’s has a lively and friendly congregation which we would love to grow and be able to do more for our local community.  So if you have a heart for the community, curiosity about Christ or just fancy some company, we would love to welcome you.  If you are interested in joining any of our activities or learning more about Jesus and Christianity, send us an Email or join us for our Sunday Service.  With God’s help, St George’s continues to work as a centre of Christian worship, witness and ministry.

All Age Service

Our All Age service runs on the 1st Sunday of every month, with singing, Bible Stories, and interactive talks.  While this service is particularly aimed at families, and children, it is of course open to "All Ages".

Holy Communion

On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month is our Holy Communion service with a more traditional approach to its layout.  These services include Hymns, and Liturgy in addition to a teaching, and prayers.  Children’s ministry (Shine Sunday School) is also provided in the Hall of the church during the service including craft projects and teaching.

The Eucharist (or Holy Communion) is a service commemorating The Last Supper, in which bread and wine are blessed and consumed as a symbolism of the Body and Blood of Jesus.  As a church, this is something we strongly believe in and follow.  For more information see our "What We Believe" Page here

Informal Worship

On the 3rd and 5th Sundays of each month, we have our Informal Morning Worship.  These services take a more relaxed, modern approach to worship, with blocks of songs, prayers and a sermon.  Our Shine Sunday School also runs during the service for the children.

Whatever the style of service there is always a time for teaching to suit that type of worship and our prayer is that our service will be filled to the brim with the Holy Spirit.  Prayer is central to the life of our Church which supports and sustains all that we do.

Please have a look around our website to find out more about who we are and what we do.  If you are interested in joining in any of our activities or learning more about Jesus and Christianity then send us an email or join us for one of our Sunday services.
