We run a number of groups throughout the week, where we meet in smaller numbers to learn more about God and his plans for our lives. Please take the time to look through the different groups
We are a group of men at the church whose aim is to provide Christian fellowship.
We believe that men need a forum and a place to forge good strong friendships which, over time will become open enough for conversation about stuff other than what they do for work or the football etc. Although these are often topics of conversation! There is healthy banter and an abundance of laughter mixed in with the seriousness of our various discussions.
Through social events such as curry nights, DVD nights, bowling and darts nights, dad’s and kids crazy golf afternoons, walks and breakfast mornings with various guest speakers, we openly reach out to non-churchgoing men in the community. We are always looking for new ideas, events or activities that we can participate in.
We have an ongoing programme of events with the men at our sister churches St Matthew’s and St Paul’s who form our THiS team. When joined together there will more often than not be 15 – 25 of us.
We know how difficult it is for men who are not in a relationship with God to come to Church, so we pray and encourage men from within the community to join us at one of our evenings or events. If you are a man or you know a man who is curious about God, our group, or would just like a friend to reach out to, then please speak to one of us about the group or simply take action and come along to one of our evenings.
We meet every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month (except August) mainly in the lounge at the church or occasionally at one of the local pubs, starting at 8pm
If you wish to join us simply come along or contact Rob - 07957 423 494 or the church office.
Radiance is a women’s fellowship group open to all women in the community.
We meet with the purpose of sharing our lives, and developing our faith together, at a time outside Sunday mornings. Our name Radiance represents our aim of helping one another to keep the flame of our faith alive in us each day. We want to be accessible to all wherever we are in our walk of faith.
We meet once a month at 8pm usually on the 3rd Monday of the month in one of the ladies’ homes for fellowship and friendship and a Bible-based study. Once a quarter we have supper together with a guest speaker.
`…In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world – just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace` - Colossians 1:6
The Christian faith is built upon the Word of God, which has been written down for us in The Bible: A collection of books from a wide variety of authors, such as shepherds, kings, traitors, farmers, priests, embezzlers, poets, scribes, fisherman, adulterers, and murders. By meeting up to discuss we feel that we can better explore the Bible, deepen our understanding of it, and grow our love for Jesus Christ.
All are welcome to join us, and do not need to have any previous Bible knowledge whatsoever. We meet on alternate Monday afternoons in the Lounge at St George’s from 2pm-4pm starting the session with prayer, followed by discussion (famously known for covering a wide range of relevant topics, all within one sitting!), and ending with refreshments and chat.
This term we are following our Sunday sermons and looking at the Fruits of the Spirit in more depth. We will be meeting on the following Mondays at 2pm:
- January 14th
- January 28th
- February 11th
- February 25th
- March 11th
- March 18th
- March 25th

The Bereavement Support Group meets every First and Third Wednesday at 2-3:30pm in the Hall Lounge. We aim to provide a safe place where any one from the parish who is bereaved, whether recently or in the past, is welcomed, befriended and given time to relax over a nice cup of tea and to be supported in their grief.
Silver Threads is a social group for women and
men, from around the Parish and within the community, aged 60 and over. We meet on the second Tuesday in the month

God loves to answer our prayers, whether for big things like the World situation or for smaller things that are important to us as individuals, for health and strength, difficult situations, for our friends and family.
Weekly - Every Saturday, 8:30am until 9:30am at the Church
Monthly - Our members also meet monthly to pray
For the Saturday morning meeting, please check the Church Calendar, especially during holiday times.
Among the things we pray for are:
- That as individuals and as a church, we will encounter God and that he will enable us to know him better and empower us to do his will.
- That God will bring people to know Jesus as their Saviour.
- The work and mission of St Georges.
- The needs of those in the church and the community
