A church at the heart of our community
St George's is a lively, friendly church in Tolworth, South-West London. We describe ourselves as a church at the heart of our community, sharing Jesus and growing in discipleship.
Our Sunday Services are in Church, and also run on Zoom for those at home, for details please use the email link below. If you don’t have Zoom at home, you can dial in using 020 3695 0088.
St George's welcomes children of all ages and considers them to be full members of the body of Christ. In the Bible Jesus goes against cultural norms to spend time with children and even says that 'the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them'. At our regular Sunday services we run SHINE Sunday school for children to engage with biblical teaching in a way that is meaningful for them. We also gather as a whole church body on the first Sunday of each month for a short, interactive service for all ages. It is a time to celebrate one another and some of our best friendships at church develop between the youngest and oldest members of our congregation. All of our services are 'sssh' free so please don't worry about your children making a noise. We are also keen to be an inclusive church so if your child has special needs please get in touch about how we can support them in services or in SHINE.
As our children grow into young adults we recognise that they need to discover faith for themselves and in conversation with other young people. FUEL youth group runs on the third Sunday of each month and is a collaboration between St Georges, St Matthew's Surbiton and St Paul's Hook - the other churches in THiS team. It is aimed at school years 6 - 10 and includes games, reflections, fun and food! We are very excited to announce that in November we will also be launching IGNITE - a group for older teens in years 11 to 13 of school.
If you would like to know more about any of our Services, SHINE Sunday School, FUEL for IGNITE please get in touch.
We meet every Sunday Morning for worship at 10:00am, with a variety of services styles available. Whatever the style of service, there is always a time for teaching, prayer, prayer ministry, and worship. Please look below to find out more about the different services we hold.
St George’s has a lively and friendly congregation which we would love to grow and be able to do more for our local community. So if you have a heart for the community, curiosity about Christ or just fancy some company, we would love to welcome you. If you are interested in joining any of our activities or learning more about Jesus and Christianity, send us an Email or join us for our Sunday Service. With God’s help, St George’s continues to work as a centre of Christian worship, witness and ministry.
Our All Age service runs on the 1st Sunday of every month, with singing, Bible Stories, and interactive talks. While this service is particularly aimed at families, and children, it is of course open to "All Ages".
On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month is our Holy Communion service with a more traditional approach to its layout. These services include Hymns, and Liturgy in addition to a teaching, and prayers. Children’s ministry (Shine Sunday School) is also provided in the Hall of the church during the service including craft projects and teaching.
The Eucharist (or Holy Communion) is a service commemorating The Last Supper, in which bread and wine are blessed and consumed as a symbolism of the Body and Blood of Jesus. As a church, this is something we strongly believe in and follow. For more information see our "What We Believe" Page here
On the 3rd and 5th Sundays of each month, we have our Informal Morning Worship. These services take a more relaxed, modern approach to worship, with blocks of songs, prayers and a sermon. Our Shine Sunday School also runs during the service for the children.
Whatever the style of service there is always a time for teaching to suit that type of worship and our prayer is that our service will be filled to the brim with the Holy Spirit. Prayer is central to the life of our Church which supports and sustains all that we do.
Please have a look around our website to find out more about who we are and what we do. If you are interested in joining in any of our activities or learning more about Jesus and Christianity then send us an email or join us for one of our Sunday services.
