This Month's Focus

I am MarkAt St George's, we value relationships and spending time together as a church family for fellowship, learning and worship.  It's how the church ought to be, and we see that in the New Testament church in the book of Acts as they spend time together to encourage, support, serve and deepen fellowship with one another.  We are excited to do the same in our upcoming TOGETHER Parish Weekend, 11th-12 May 2024.  And we are thrilled to have two fantastic guest speakers and a musician who will perform a concert for us.

We begin on Saturday, May 11th at 2pm.  We will have Stefan Smart, a biblical storyteller and actor.  He will do a theatrical performance of the Gospel of Mark - recreating for the modern audience what it must have been like for the first hearers of this tale.  It's full-bodied drama, enacted by a single narrator with all of Mark's character, events and layers of meaning brought startlingly to life.  Stefan has performed all over the UK and abroad.  We will have Bryn Haworth perform in a musical concert in the evening.  Bryn is a songwriter, guitarist, and pioneer of a rock band and has released twenty albums and performed all over the UK.

On May 12th, we will finish the weekend at our 10am Sunday service with a guest speaker, Stephen Abley.  Stephen is a revivalist based in Winchester.  He is a worship leader, evangelist & pioneer.  He travels extensively across the UK, US & Europe, equipping & releasing others into the heart of the Father to understand their authority, character & destiny.

It will be a fantastic weekend of fellowship, worship, encouragement, and social time.  Please come and join us.

Sundays at St Georges

We meet every Sunday Morning for worship at 10:00am, with a variety of services styles available.  Whatever the style of service, there is always a time for teaching, prayer, prayer ministry, and worship.  Please look below to find out more about the different services we hold.

St George’s has a lively and friendly congregation which we would love to grow and be able to do more for our local community.  So if you have a heart for the community, curiosity about Christ or just fancy some company, we would love to welcome you.  If you are interested in joining any of our activities or learning more about Jesus and Christianity, send us an Email or join us for our Sunday Service.  With God’s help, St George’s continues to work as a centre of Christian worship, witness and ministry.

All Age Service

Our All Age service runs on the 1st Sunday of every month, with singing, Bible Stories, and interactive talks.  While this service is particularly aimed at families, and children, it is of course open to "All Ages".

Holy Communion

On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month is our Holy Communion service with a more traditional approach to its layout.  These services include Hymns, and Liturgy in addition to a teaching, and prayers.  Children’s ministry (Shine Sunday School) is also provided in the Hall of the church during the service including craft projects and teaching.

The Eucharist (or Holy Communion) is a service commemorating The Last Supper, in which bread and wine are blessed and consumed as a symbolism of the Body and Blood of Jesus.  As a church, this is something we strongly believe in and follow.  For more information see our "What We Believe" Page here

Informal Worship

On the 3rd and 5th Sundays of each month, we have our Informal Morning Worship.  These services take a more relaxed, modern approach to worship, with blocks of songs, prayers and a sermon.  Our Shine Sunday School also runs during the service for the children.

Whatever the style of service there is always a time for teaching to suit that type of worship and our prayer is that our service will be filled to the brim with the Holy Spirit.  Prayer is central to the life of our Church which supports and sustains all that we do.

Please have a look around our website to find out more about who we are and what we do.  If you are interested in joining in any of our activities or learning more about Jesus and Christianity then send us an email or join us for one of our Sunday services.
